I already had an account that I had signed up for years ago, but I never used it because I just didn’t “get” Twitter. The #’s and @’s both baffled and irritated me, and I couldn’t make any sense of the apparent randomness of information that would show up on the rare occasions when I bothered to open the app. Periodically over the years I would feel shamed by my lack of coolness and try again, only to quickly delete the app once more.
